To further enrich user experience several plug-ins are also available for GoldWave, including:
- GWVoice, Voice Over plug-in
- GWAmp, to use Winamp® DSP Plug-in.
- DirectX, to use DirectX Audio Effect Plug-ins.
- QTFile, to open unencrypted (non-DRM) MPEG4 (iTune M4A) audio files and audio within most QuickTime movie (MOV) files.
- APEFile, adds Monkey's Audio support to GoldWave, which allows GoldWave to open and save APE files.
- GWBPMCounter, adds a simple, manual (mouse click), beats-per-minute counter.
- GWMPVisual, to host some Windows Media Player Visualization plug-ins.
GoldWave's recording options include some very useful tools and features:
- Delayed Recording Timer is somewhat different from usual timers, as it can be used only for setting up a scheduled recording on a weekly pattern. It cannot be used to schedule a file or time-size recording.
- Voice Activated Recording is used to auto start a recording session whenever a predefined level of audio signal is registered by Gold Wave. Here the level of audio signal, duration of recording and prebuffer can be preset to the required values.
- Monitor Input is used for adjusting the recording level or audio input level before commencing recording.
- Ctrl Key Safety prevents accidentally recording over an existing recording.
- Set Finish Marker At Stop automatically moves the finish marker to the end of the recording session.
- Show Settings Window pops up a menu or window with information regarding the current recording settings like the recording device, input source, settings, etc.
- Filter DC Offset filters a dc offset from the recorded audio.
- Auto Save saves the file when recording ends.
- Power Down System turns off the computer after saving the recording.
